About Academia Hernando
Our History
Academia Hernando was formed as a division of learning in retirement of the University of South Florida. It was originally called "Mondays in Brooksville" and met in the Commission Chambers of the Courthouse. It was Incorporated as a 501(c) 3 domestic non-profit business on November 18, 2010. Since its inception, Academia Hernando has met in a number of venues including its current home at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Deltona Blvd. in Spring Hill.
Our Mission
Academia Hernando is a not-for-profit lifelong learning organization providing quality instruction and learning experiences for adult students throughout Hernando County, Florida and beyond. Our goal is to inform, educate and inspire adult learners through a series of weekly lectures on a wide variety of topics.
Board of Directors
Academia Hernando is a domestic Non Profit business, incorporated in Florida on November 18, 2010. It is governed by a board of directors and is an IRS 501 c (3) type organization (organizations exempt under Internal Revenue Code ("IRC") section 501(c)(3). Donations and support of Academia Hernando is tax deductible.
